Dva Escobarové !

Já jsem momentálně hrozně natěšenej na tenhle dokument, který premieroval na Tribece a teď v Cannes. Natočil ho Jeff Zimbalist (autor poměrně bezvadného dokumentu Favela Rising) se svým bratrem - a film pojednává o Pablo Escobarovi a Andreasu Escobarovi. .)

The Two Escobars (2010) - IMDB
Born in the same city in Colombia but not related, Andrés Escobar and Pablo Escobar shared a fanatical love of soccer. Andrés grew up to become one of Colombia's most beloved players, while Pablo became the most notorious drug baron of all time. As Pablo's criminal success accelerated, his personal interest in (and financial support of) soccer became mirrored in a broader cultural fervor. The Colombian national soccer team rose to unprecedented glory, ultimately coming to a head when Andrés' shocking mistake in the 1994 World Cup lost his team the title, and lost his nation the chance to redeem its international image.

Mobilizing an encyclopedic arsenal of archival footage, Michael Zimbalist and Jeff Zimbalist (Favela Rising, TFF '05) paint a portrait of a culture so invested in and defined by its sports team that one high-stakes mistake on the field could shatter its national identity, and ultimately cost a man his life. While adeptly investigating the intersections of crime, sports, and nationalism, the Zimbalists reveal the surprising connections between the murders of Andrés and Pablo Escobar.

Zpět do Kolumbie: Zajímavý doku!

ABC Colombia (2007)
Along the Don Diego river, one of the many rivers that descend from the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, there is a small building of white cement, on whose walls the children have drawn the flora and fauna of the region. This is the school class of the children of the 'campesinos' of the area. A single elementary class that gathers 25 children between 5 and 15 years old, the age at which school ends around here.

Many at that age have already begun to work as 'raspachines' - coca-leaf pickers. Others have joined the paramilitary and are patrolling the mountains - in which there are enormous stretches of coca plantation - to prevent infiltration by guerrillas or the army. The documentary follows the young protagonists in this problematic setting through an entire school year, exploring some of the realities that nurture and perpetuate the violence in Colombia.
